McKnight Insurance has been a family business for over 20 years. We’re based in Mansfield, TX — and we’ve spent that time building relationships with the kind of clients we understand best: business owners, contractors, and families who want coverage that actually fits their lives.

Our Story

McKnight Insurance was founded in 2004 by Becky McKnight. From the start, Becky built the agency on a commercial focus — understanding that business owners needed more than a policy. They needed an agent who understood how their operations actually worked. Her husband’s heavy equipment hauling business gave the agency its early roots in the trucking and contractor world, and that connection has stayed at the core of who we serve.

As the agency grew, Becky expanded into personal lines — believing that the families and business owners who trusted McKnight for their commercial coverage deserved the same level of service for their homes, vehicles, and everything else they owned.

Today the agency is managed by Toby Yeary, who spent 20+ years owning and operating a landscape and irrigation business before coming to McKnight. That background isn’t incidental — it means our managing agent has personally navigated the same payroll pressures, equipment risks, subcontractor relationships, and liability exposures that our contractor clients deal with every day. He speaks the language because he lived it.

Our managing agent spent 20+ years owning a landscape and irrigation business before coming to McKnight. The agency was founded with deep roots in the trucking and heavy equipment world. We don’t just sell coverage to contractors — we understand the operations, the risks, and the pressures of running that kind of business firsthand.

We represent 100+ carriers and we’re not tied to any of them. Our only obligation is finding the right fit for your situation — not hitting a quota or pushing one company’s products. When your rate goes up at renewal, we go back to the market. You don’t have to.
